How do you say "Plays were performed in this theatre" in Latin?

How do you say "Plays were performed in this theatre." in Latin?

What tense would that be? Is there another way to say it in the perfect tense?

Thanks alot!

How do you say "Plays were performed in this theatre" in Latin?hollywood theater

"Fabulae in hoc theatro factae sunt"

"fabulae" is translating "plays" with meaning of theatrical works.

Tens to be used is the Indicative perfect of the passive form.

As alternative (with the meaning "plays have been performed in this theatre) you could use the Indicative pluperfect still in the passive form and then sentence would be

"Fabulae in hoc theatro factae erant"

Edit #1 - ref.below answer I reconfirm my choice of the verb

"facere" instead of "agere"

As per this very popular on line dictionary

http://catholic.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/...

the verb perform translates into Latin with different verbs, included my option "facio, facere" while I can't see the below suggested "ago, agere": I've made a reverse research and ago is not translating "to perform"

I know the Latin saying "Acta est fabula, plaudite!" but its meaning is " The play is over, applaud!" (and not " The play was performed, applaud !").

How do you say "Plays were performed in this theatre" in Latin?opera.com opera theaterInformative perhaps - but wrong. That translation is incorrect. It means something like 'plays were built in this theatre'. The only verb to use with plays/performances etc. is ago, agere, egi, actus. As one answer pointed out, where do you think the word actor came from? Report It

Los juegos fueron realizados en este teatro
Ludi (scaenici) facti sunt in hoc theatro.

P.s. I don't know what you exactly mean "Plays" ... I intended them as performances.

If you need translation into Latin

Fabulae in hoc theatro actae sunt.

Would agree with above except for choice of verb -

'To perform a play' was 'agere fabulam', so verb would be a tense of agere, in this case 3rd plural, perfect tense, passive voice.

ADDED: The root of the English word 'actor' is the Latin 'actus' the same root as 'actae' in the translation. It means 'one who performed in plays.' And, of course, the literal translation of 'Acta fabula est, plaudite' really is 'The play was performed; applaud.' The bit about 'The play is over' was just to put it in colloquial English.

2007 MLB Playoffs - Who Plays Who?

How does it work? Wild card team plays which team? How is this figured out?

2007 MLB Playoffs - Who Plays Who?

the wild card plays the team with the best record, unless the team with the best record is in the same division as the wildcard. if the season ended today the playoff's would look like this.

ALDS

Red Sox vs Indians

Angels vs Yankees

NLDS

Mets vs Cubs

Diamondbacks vs Brewers

at the moment the cubs and brewers are tied in the NL central, btu the brewers have a better divisional record so the cubs would be the wildcard.

2007 MLB Playoffs - Who Plays Who?opera mobile opera theaterThe cubs are not leading the wildcard right now, the Padres are. The wildcard really is between the Pads, the Dodgers, and possibly the Phillies, unless they collapse and both the Cubs and Brewers really get going. Report It

Greg - bigholycow is right. Only one of the two between Milw/Cubs would go to the playoffs -the division winner. The other one would go home since other teams have a better record for the wildcard. Report It

The wild card team plays the division winner with the best record, unless that team is from their own division, then they play the team with the second best record, the other teams remaining play each other.

I know that towards the end of Renaissance Commedia Dell'arte was really popular. That was improvisational though. If you go to wikipedia you can find a lot of information. That's what I used for my history of theatre paper.

What are the songs that Johnny Depp plays in Chocolat?

I know there's at least two songs he "plays" during the party scene.

Does anyone know the names of the songs, or if they're available to download?

I checked the soundtrack and none of the songs sounded exactly like the ones he played.

Thanks.

"Minor Swing/They're Red Hot/Caravan" is one. It was originially recorded by Django Reindhardt, and you can listen to a clip here.

He's wrong, you can also challenge if a ball was caught or not. I beleive Madden 2004 was the first to offer this feature.

What are some Highly Effective NCAA 2007 Football offensive Plays?

I have a few go-to plays, does anyone have plays that work anywhere between 60-95 % of the time...also what are some good defensive coverages when playing a team that mixes up the run and the pass quite well?

What are some Highly Effective NCAA 2007 Football offensive Plays?extension

Empty backfield: Hitch play where the two outside receivers do a hitch the one on the right open about 85% of the time. Also in that same formation the play is to the right of the hitch (can't think of the name) where both outside receivers do a comeback route, hit the receiver on the left (if it is man coverage) in a zone you can try the deep ball and everyone in a while the tight end (this play will work EVERYTIME if you can read the defense). Won the NC with UK my first year on Heisman using this method. Option works quite well too.

i would have to say the option is one of the most effective plays in college football
I'm not sure if it is NCAA 2007, but I run a play in the Shotgun Trip formation. The two outside recievers run a post, and the slot receiver runs a quick outside slant about 5 yards to the sideline. It is a short pass, but usually the defense is too far back to cover it and the receiver is ALWAYS open and can usually get some good yards because he is one-on-one with the DB. Works best on the far side of the field.

On defense, the monster blitz in the 4-3 works pretty well.
